Russ made use of the Format command to put borders on the
the underlying grid. However it is possible to use the
built in grid lines. As Russ suggested, select (highlight)
the range of cells required, then choose:-

File/Print Area/Set Print Area.

Try a print preview (File/Print Preview)

There still won't be any grid lines showing but you can now
choose the Setup button from the top of the print preview
screen, choose the sheet tab and make sure the "Gridlines"
box is ticked.

More long winded than the way Russ suggested but the
underlying grid is not so dark as the borders produced with
the Format command. Also you then still have the option of
applying Borders to some of the grid later if you wish.

Regards

Tony
