Hi Sixto,

At work I recently acquired a new PentiumII 350 running Win98. I also had
shutdown problems. There are detailed troubleshooting instructions at:

Inspite of the "startup" in the title, it also covers shutdown problems. My
first option was to disable fast shutdown. This seemed to work initially,
but I subsequently had intermittent problems shutting down.

I then implemented  the fast shutdown tip (see One click shutdown, 12
March, 1999, posted by Shyamal Gupta) adding a shortcut
c:\windows\Rundll.exe user.exe,exitwindows to my desktop and quicklaunch
bar. I have had no shutdown problems since.  Hope this helps.
