I wanted to make a slight correction to the following post; I stated that "As many as 144 programs have opened at the same time while trying to shut down after freezing." I should have said;  As many as 144 windows have opened. Sorry. I felt the correction might help toward finding a solution to the problem

I have no idea whether or not other programs will hang, since I've only had this computer a week and haven't had time to run all programs on the system. someone suggested it might be my firewall. however, I doubt it since the CPU has a bulilt in firewall. Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
