I have a UMAX Astra 1200S Scanner which I have had for a number of years and really like it. It has  VistaScan V 1.08. It was used with Windows 95, but now I have Windows XP and the copy utility will not work with XP unless I purchase the copy utility software CD from UMAX, which is $49. I don't mind doing that, but I am wondering if it works as good as the original or is there other software that will work just as well. I remember reading about a copy utility at one time that was supposed to work with any scanner, but I don't remember what it was. This scanner will do  legal size paper and I really would like to keep it. Linda
