I am looking for a freeware or shareware communications
program(s) to run under Win 9x.

It must have a robust scripting language able to perform tasks such
as logic and arithmetic ops, handle the emulation of protocols via
programming (note: this protocol is NOT related to Zmodem
etc..)ie: send ASCII control characters like <ESC> etc., run other
programs from the script be they Win 9x or DOS programs, pass
information to these programs via command line
and/or DDE.

I need to find a program to like this to implement a particular
communications system on Win 9x.

Pointers to programs and your experiences would be great.
