Can ALL downloads be trashed? I have a million  (lots).  PDF, app downloads, internet  downloads, etc., etc.  Once  I've installed or saved  what I want (which I have done), is there any reason not to trash them all? 
Or should I delete selectively - in which case what kind should be retained?
Or is it safer not  to net mess with them?
I run M$ Win on my iMac. The question applies to both systems.
