I think that anyone with anything near an always-on connection, like you have in the
evenings, should use a firewall. I have tried two, and ZoneAlarm is both effective
and easy. (And free.) In addition to that and your anti-virus program, I think that you
should get a free anti-spying program like the trial version of PestPatrol, though you
needn't run it very often.
