The BCC feature is exactly what you want.

Open a new message (or click reply on a read message)
and then click VIEW -- ALL HEADERS.
You will now find a new header field .... BCC:
Which stands for BLIND CC  in other words,
any addressee names in that field will receive the
message as if it was addressed to them and them alone.
