I have a client who has Windows 3.1 on their computer and cannot get
into any of their windows application programs because the following
message appears each time they try to go into a windows application,
i.e. Word, Write, or even File Manager, etc..  Windows successfully
boots up, but cannot execute any programs.

The error message is as follows. This appeared when trying to go into
Microsoft Word 6.0.  Also a similar message appears for the other
programs.

        "winword caused a general protection fault in module user.exe
        at 002B:0116"

I ran the bootlog.txt file and at one of the lines it read as follows"

        LoadStart=netapi.dll
        LoadFail - Netapi.dll Failure Code is 02

Does anyone know why this error is occurring and how to fix this
problem?

The computer  has 8 megs of ram and is a 33mhz, 1.7 gigabyte hard drive.
