Hmmm... I'm curious what you mean by "inactive." Do you mean it was
dimmed as if it were a "system" file?
I am curious if your Explorer is set up to display "hidden" or
"system" files. The reason I ask is I'm curious if the attributes on
those icons were the problem.
To determine if Explorer is set up to show System files.
Double-click on My Computer.
Select the folder options. (I'm not at a Win98 machine at the moment,
so I don't know the exact menu in which it resides.)
Under the View tab, check to see if Hidden Files and Folders are set
to display.
