        For the bookmarks, go first to "Edit" and click "select all", if you
wish to sort everything, or else select with "Alt"+ arrows or mouse
clicks whichever folders you wish to include in the sort, then the
"sort" will activate, i.e., it needs to "see" something to sort.
 Try Alt-click when selecting download files - that works on MAC.
