Quite by accident, I recently noticed that after installing my new WestDig
Caviar 6.4 Gb, partitioned as D, E and F, I saw in Explorer that everything
I had installed to D (my larger, business-type programs) had "mirrored" to
E ** AND ** F. Needless to say, I was peeved. I really wanted all that
real estate for the future and was sorely aggrivated when I realized that
what was on E and F were basically "back-ups" of D.
I already religiously backup with a Zip Easy 800 so I didn't want more of
the same ! I checked the MS Knowledge Base regarding "mirroring" and it
just confirmed that this was a method often used to back up other hard
drives. No info about turning it on or off. I'm not convinced that this
is a Win95 problem! I suspect the installation of my new hard drive is
the culprit but that is a discussion for PCBUILD.
So you might look there on how to make your new drives "mirror" the
established drive - OH! and while you're there, check and see how to GET IT
OFF MINE! Thanks
