I don't know about Barbara's suggestion, but I've seen bad memory cause blue
screens, total lockups
and similar problems, but not this.
Unfortunately Corel's Suite 8 has a LOT of bad bugs in it. They have released
so many patches and
new builds that if you have not installed ALL of them that may well be your
problem.
If you download them from Corel's website be prepared - at last count I had
downloaded over
20 Mbyte of patchs (quit keeping track) for our office network. We flat gave
up on the Quatropro,
Corel Central and actually bought Microsoft's Office 97 (for 50 machines) to
get Excel and Access -
We still use Wordperfect 8, but have some USER problems with that, losing files
when using the mouse
to move them. I admit its not a Corel error, but it's a poor design, that is
not typical of most window apps.
It is a royal pain to find these lost files in our environment I hope when more
of our users discover the
"find" options in explorer they will quit messing around with Word Perfect's
file handling - it is a good
word processing tool but a poor excuse for a file manager.
