I can only guess at a few causes of the missing 100MB, but the real
issue is freeing up space on your hard drive which might include the
100MB. A few file types that are not included in your efforts to date
are .bak, .tmp and .temp that are not in the specified temp
directory/folder, .gid, .$$$, .chk, .old, older system.ini and win.ini
files created by programs during installation, left over
files/directories from programs that have been uninstalled, and zip
program files that have been unzipped and installed. There are other
unneeded file types, but see how the foregoing does for you.

> David..thanks for your reply. But I did indeed clear all temp files..recycle bin, and ran disk cleanup. I do these things several times a day due to the limited drive space anyway. It`s a 2 GB drive(I have alot of programs!)I can`t help but think there`s alot of unnecessary files taking up space, but this was a sudden loss of 100 MBs overnight..from approx 250 to 150 MBs drive space remaining. I also went through every folder in the drive to see if I`d find a 100 MB file somewhere..but didn`t find one. The swap file seems a normal size at about 65 MBs. Also..when I ran defrag it didn`t reveal any damaged areas on the disk. So this is really mysterious.
