You might want to look into xxcopy from www.xxcopy.com . It is free and the
site  has complete step by step directions on making an exact copy of one
drive to another drive and then using the program for incremental backups. I
routinely use it to back up my C drive onto my D drive. I don't see why it
could not be used with a removable drive.
