I have cable modem (which uses DHCP to assign the IP "stuff") and Netzero
interchangeably without changing any settings. If I'm not connected to my
network, I just use the Netzero dialer and connect up. If I then hang-up
and then connect to my cable, it's off and running! Sometimes I've used
WINIPCFG.exe utility in Win98 to release and renew my IP stuff on the
cable, but I don't even think that is necessary.
I have friends that use both at the same time too! I forget what they were
doing it for but it seemed to work having a dialup connection at the same
time as their DSL connection. I have no idea how Windows knew which one to
go to for internet stuff!
I think that you can just use the connections.
