The Updates for Office 2000 page is located here: http://tinyurl.com/3eyye.
From this page you can download and save to disk for installation anytime. I
recommend you save a copy to removable media or a second hard drive. If you
need to reinstall Windows or Office 2000 later, it would be nice to have the
updates handy rather than have to download them again.

The link works, but you get the page with all the Office 2k updates. Correct
me if I'm wrong, but you download the MS installer (166Kb) that checks for
needed updates and downloads and installs an average of 25 Mb?  Do you have
an option of saving the download?  I don't recall that option being
available for SR1a. I think you could do that for SR1.
