You don't need any added software, but you may need to add a protocol - I think the following will
auto-add the protocol (can't remember) but adding one later is easy if you need to
.
Connect your null modem cable between parallel ports,( disconnect any printers ) then go to
start/programs/accessories/communications/Direct Cable Connection. You need to set one PC as host
and the other as guest. You'll also have to enable file sharing on BOTH PC's - Control Panel /
Network icon / Configuration tab - 2/3 down the page there's a "File and print sharing" button -
click it and then enable file sharing. Rebbot, then right click on the drives / folders you want to
share and click "sharing". Good luck
