I have Avast running on 5 machines and 2 laptops at home and it works great.
A number of my clients use it and like it better than Norton. Note pad is
part of Windows, so I would suggest looking in that direction. Maybe you
might have to reinstall Windows over itself to fix it.

> Does anyone use avast for there antivirus? I know nothing about notepad or
how it works & what ever is supposed to be there, in the avast program, does
not go there. I am supposed to go to run & type notepad.exe & a page opens
with nothing in it. I have been in contact with avast & they keep telling me
it has to work. I erased the program & reinstalled it & I get the same
results. I have the program on another comp & I get nothing there either but
