Darlene,
To get rid of the MS office bar, right click on the Start button, then open
the Programs folder, then the Startup folder.
You will see an icon for "Microsoft Office Shortcut Bar". Delete it. The
next time you boot up that tool bar will be gone.
As for your other problem, it sounds like your kids have activated the
Desktop Toolbar. To clear it, find a blank area (inbetween the icons) and
right click.
You will see a "Toolbars" command. Highlight it and you should see a menu
item called Desktop with a check mark in front of it. Click on the word
Desktop and that will uncheck it. This should get rid of that toolbar.
