I think you mean "Scanreg", which is the MS registry repair tool (and more).
Corrupted files have always been a bit of a mystery to me, but they can be
caused by such things as bad shutdowns and RAM or HD problems.
A Google search will tell you more, or you can check out this MS KB article:
"Description of the Windows Registry Checker Tool (Scanreg.exe)"
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;183887
******************************************************************
There was a message that Windows
had detected a corrupt file in the registry, and that I should run "reged"
(I think that is what it said), from the c prompt. I did this and was told
the registry had been restore to a previous version and now all is well.
Any ideas what happened and why?
