Hi Ben,
I guess you learned the hard way _/*not*/_ to install unknown programs.
I hope that this will be a good lesson to all to be more discerning or
discriminating
with regards to programs or offers you find on the internet.
See eg http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm
and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rogue_software
http://www.malwarebytes.org/database.php
http://www.tenebril.com/src/info.php?id=5197819
One thing puzzles me:Why did you choose to delete the program through
the Registry,
rather than uninstall it through Add/Remove?.
Then do a Registry search with a good Registry cleaner for any remaining
related files.
However scrutinize each found entry and don't delete indiscriminately.
Plus do a backup before you delete anything.Export the pertinent keys.
As to Microsoft.VC80.MFC and Microsoft.VC80.CRT ,they are part of
Visual Studio files
and could be considered System- or shared files, since they are used for
other programs too.
Not surprisingly then that you have problems deleting them.
Check the Properties of the files and if they show to be genuine M$ files,
leave them alone or you may find that other programs may not work anymore.

> You people are great. Thus far all my previous questions were resolved. I have a good one here. I made the unfortunate move to download a program from Errorsmart which was advertised as FREE. They scanned my computer for errors, and (offcourse) found over 300 of them.... I clicked on FIX and they answered that they fixed 50 of the errors but to get the rest of them I had to download another program. So I did, and now they asked for money... PayPal and you guess the rest. This is not the end of the story and to make it short, I deleted this program from my registry !!! (dangerous); but when I searched, I found it hidden under a "Program File" under the names: Microsoft.VC80.MFC and another file Microsoft.VC80.CRT and I cannot delete them because a DB (Dialog Box) tells me that it is used by another program???
> I used "Spy Terminator" to delete it but without success. I hate to be deceived, a free software must be free or tell me in advance if it is not. Live and learn...
> Thank you all: Ben.
