The info you provided is a bit skitchy, but, if you are using the
4.00.950 Windows95 and have not installed all the available
patches, it might be a good idea to do so. The three main patches
are Service Pack 1, OLE Update, and (probably most applicable in
your situation) Kernel Update.
If you are using any of the OSR 2 versions (4.00.950 B), these
updates are already in place and the patches will not help.
