Hello list

Can anybody shed light on these two memory resident programs. System Win2k connected to LAN.

The task manager shows 4 ~ 5 instances of svchost.exe file with a memory usage of over 30572K. What is the origin of this file? and what is it doing?. And why do I need more than one active instance of this file? Do I need this file? If not how can I disable it?

Many a times while shutting down, a small window will come up with title "TPH" with the message the program is busy etc. Again the same questions as above.

I would greatly appreciate any help

Aftab
