I believe thw Win 95/98/ME version of NotePad can only open files up to
64KB in size, but that the version included in NT/2K/XP is not so
restricted.
I also seem to recall that WordPad was an optional component; you could
choose to install it or not. In that case, if you have your original
Windows media handy, you should be able to use Add/Remove Programs to
install this component.
Because it's a Windows component, there's not going to be any legitimate
place you can download it from. BUT there are at least half a dozen decent
shareware replacements for WordPad available, and you may find that you like
one of them better than NotePad, too.
