Dianne,
The code and sticker are your proof of legal ownership. Without it, you are
in violation of the Microsoft license agreement. You might try contacting
Gateway to see if they might help, but I would not expect much assistance
since this is a user fault. It is possible to find activation keys (that is
what that number is) on the Internet. Those are ILLEGAL, but in your case
you may feel justified to use one. I cannot give you directions on finding
such a key since that would be contrary to the spirit of this list. Good
luck.

My Daughter gave me her Gateway computer loaded with Windows XP Home
Edition. It shows that the program Microsoft Word 2000 has been loaded onto
the computer however she never finished the installment, (or used it) Now
when I try to access it I get a window asking for a 25 digit code that's on
the back of the jewel case on a yellow sticker. Problem is: she threw
away the jewel case with the code sticker.
Is there any way I can get the program to finish installing so I can
use/access it?
thanks,
Dianne Swayne
