SYS.INI? Are you sure you don't mean SYSTEM.INI?
To edit system.ini, click START--> RUN--> and type SYSTEM.INI
into the white box. This should load the system.ini file into
the notepad so that you can edit it.
Within the first 4-5 lines, you should see a statement beginnging
with "LOAD=" or "RUN=" edit out (delete) the statements referencing
the now-gone programs but leave anything else in tact. The statements
are separated by semi colons;;;
RUN= dis program; dat program; de other program
Problems in the system registry can be resolved by manually editing
the registry with the REGEDIT program (not for the inexperienced user!)
Or use a registry cleaner. The MS registry cleaner REGCLEAN 4.1A does
a marginal job of cleaning out that kind of stuff. I recommend Nuts
and Bolts.
