  My first question is what you mean by "download messages to WordPad",
since "download messages" generally refers to collecting messages from a
mail server using POP or IMAP -- and WordPad doesn't do that.

  My second question is how these messages are "coded".  Could you perhaps
copy a bit of the coded text into a message so we can see what you're seeing?

  Once we know what you're seeing, we'll have some odds of figuring out how
to fix it.
