 (FWIW -- I'm going to do workaround #1)

BTW: I think it is a good idea to export the replaced branches
as two .reg files first as backups, (before you start), so they can
be "unkilled" later...  (OR at least to see if MS does it, later...)

MS doesn't always support undoing things that were done manually...
