The .pst file is read-only. Writing a file to a cd-r sets the read-only
attribute. Copying the file off of the cd-r to a hard drive does not clear
the read-only attribute. Right click on the .pst file, choose properties,
and uncheck read-only.

I am in the process of transferring outlook pst files from an old
computer with windows 98se to the new computer with windows XP home
edition.
When I go to open (with outlook) the pst files saved on a cd on the old
computer in the new computer I get the message "Access denied. You do
not have permission to open ....."
