In a previous post I asked about internet connection sharing programs, and several of you gave me excellent responses: THANKS.
Now it has come to my attention that I need to take care in purging my computer of the Winproxy program. It does not have an uninstaller, and it is not in the list of programs in the add/remove folder of the control panel. Here's what/where I have found of Winproxy on my computer:
1) In a folder labeled My Download Files, a wp14us.exe file, presumably the executable for version 1.4. ( I reckon this is where it was loaded onto my computer by the guy who set this up for me).
2) A file in the Start/Program Files folder that contains Winproxy (a shortcut, yes?) and a readme file. Note, the readme file has no
     info on uninstalling Winproxy.
3) A folder on the C drive (last one listed under C in the Explorer window) that contains the following sub-folders: cache, logs, mail,
proxy.pac, config, readme, and Winproxy. (This latter is the actual program???)

This is all I have found; might there be more I need to find and expunge?

My question to you is: How can I best eliminate this "stuff" from my computer? Do I just "select" these items in the various folders and hit the delete key? I am told this is not a 32 bit program which is why it is not listed in the add/remove folder. Does that mean I have to diddle with the registry (PLEASE, NO!). Your wise counsel is being sought, again. I hope all readers/users of this list benefit as I am.

Thanks. Mike Williams
