Sorry for the confusion, had read though it before sending, but not well
enough.

This line:
- Off2k machine (1 each) - Converted Access 2000 machine to 'prior Access
version'
Should read:
- Off2k machine (1 each) - Converted Access 2000 DATABASE to 'prior Access
version'

The original db was created in Access 2000 then moved to 4 different Access
97 machines. On all 4 machines the 'Create Linked Table Wizard' WAS working
BEFORE loading the converted Access 2000 db, and NOT working AFTER loading
the db.

If I can provide any more confusion, please let me know. ;-)

Thanks again
John

John,

You are still loosing me (us?) with the "converted Access 2000"
do you mean a database designed in 2k and then converted down
to 97? or do you mean a PC with Access 2k that was somehow
converted back to 97 (or 95???)

I suspect that in any case, this is where your problem lies.

Try loading the WHOLE data file into one of the pure Access 97
machines and save it. Then try your link with only other pure
Access 97 systems. Keep the converted machine out of the loop
and see what happens.
