Hello Lee,

I think your best bet is to continue trying to contact this person who set
up the computer. In the meantime, you might try writing down all possible
passwords you can think of and try them in various combinations. Also, by
doing this, the password may come to you at any given moment. If the
password was associated with anything in particular, try to re-associate it.
The association may serve as a 'hint' and again, it may come to you.

Try to get more information on this "utility" you were told about. I'm not
aware of any program that you could run from a disk to bypass the Windows
password. If it were that easy, it would defeat the purpose of having one.
Of course, anything is possible and I'm sure there's someone somewhere who
can do it.

From what you said, I understand you have never used this computer. In the
long run it may be best to reinstall Windows 2000. By doing so you would
start fresh and could set everything to you liking, to include taking steps
to prevent a lost password.

What if you have already lost your password and can't get back in. Someone
else installed the window 2000 and I can't get in touch with them and I
don't know what they used. I was told I needed to buy some type of utility
or something. Could you tell me more about this and where do I get it? I
would appreciate any help. Thanks, Lee
