I have a Compaq Laptop running Windows XP Home SP1. When booting, I have the choice of booting into either of two operating systems, identically identified as "Microsoft Windows WP Home Edition" The first, default is corrupt. The second, which has to be manually selected each and every time, is perfect.
HOW CAN I REMOVE THE FIRST SELECTION?
Yes, I know I can reformat, and am willing to do so if necessary, so risky measures are all right. Need a boot sector utility, etc.

Your friend,

Jim
