Did you just put in win95 service pac 1? That is buggy and
causes this problem.
The following is from MS, ATT Worldnet, and Me :-)
There was a problem with the Windows 95 Service
Pack 1. If you have previously installed this
on your
machine, the password file may have become
corrupted. Go to Microsoft's page to download a
fix for this. (278KB)

If you decide to use DUN and find that it is
not
saving your password, then you may need to do
the following:
1.If you are using Dial-Up Networking and find
that
the Save Password check box is grayed out (so
you cannot use this feature), check to make
sure
that you have "Client for Microsoft Networks"
listed
when you double-click the Network icon in the
Control Panel. If it is not listed, select Add,
Client,
and select "Client for Microsoft Networks".
When
you restart your system, you should find you
now
can use the Save Password feature.
*******WHILE THERE, check for component: TCP/IP
Must be added after a re-install of dial-up
networking.
2.After creating a DUN connection, if you don't
connect the first time, the password is not
saved.
The password has to be re-typed even though you
clicked the save password check box.
