I don't know how an alias relates but I suspect it is the same usage as
"Nickname" in Outlook Express. Anyway, if you fill in the nickname field
when making an address in OE, when you start typing that nickname in the To
or Cc field of a new e-mail, it will insert that nickname into the address
field but the underlying (and actual) e-mail address will be the correctly
structured e-mail address you typed in the "e-mail addresses:" field when
filling out the address book form. How's that for a run-on sentence?

By the way, you can fill in or correct the nickname by highlighting the
entry in the address book then right click and choose properties.
