Thanks - I found the shortcut.
But Wordpad is stll missing from the Open With list of choices - only Word and Notepad are available. This is recent, but I can't give a diagnostic history.

The shortcut may have disappeared, but it's unlikely that the program
did.
Search for "Wordpad.exe" and create a shortcut when you find it.
I've heaqrd good things anout Notepad ++, but have never used it:

What is the best replacement for Wordpad, which mysteriously disappeared
from my computer?
Any clues as to its disappearance would be welcome.
XPPro SP2.
