Hi Don,

No, I haven't uninstalled WinAmp. The question was about "how to get rid of
it completely". What I described is generally the method used to uninstall
remnants of programs when some of it's files and/or folders have been
deleted and it's uninstaller won't work via Add and Remove Programs in
Control Panel. Some third party uninstallers may do the job without
reinstalling the program but I haven't had a need to go that route.

Changing the file association in itself won't solve the problem of 'leftover
WinAmp parts' on the system.

It sounds to me, like you HAVE uninstalled winamp, but when you click
on a wav or whatever, it is still LOOKING for winamp. Just open the
program you want to play the file with and set the options to play this
file.

You can also save the file to the desktop, right click on it and tell it to
always open this type file with " the program you have selected,
realplayer, example."
