In the past, when I wanted to print just part of a paragraph from a newsletter, for instance, I would highlight the desired portion, then go to "file", "print" & would have a choice under Page Range for "All", "Selection", or "pages".  I would choose "selection" and that is what would be printed, just the highlighted selection.

Recently I am going through the same steps but am getting the complete article or several pages, etc.  Have I inadvertently changed something?

I am using Windows XP Home,a  Dell Dimension 2400 Computer & a Dell A940 All-in-One Printer.
