I don't use AOL anymore myself, but I do remember that when they came out with version 4, the SENDER has the option of sending an attachment as either embedded or attached. If the recipient also has version 4, then it doesn't make any difference how they sent it. Because of incompatibility, the sender needs to send as an actual attachment. AOL 4 gives the sender that option. However, I can't quote the exact sequence of doing it, but I recall it was easy.
