I don't recall where, but I read a reliable source who stated that OEM
packages can, in fact, be legal. Because they are sold in bulk at low
prices, the manufacturers would prefer if you believed otherwise. If the
package has the Microsoft certificate of authenticity, that's a good sign
it's authentic. If you register
the software's serial number, it's yours. Microsoft doesn't like it. But I
don't like that they sell unstable products. Such is life.
