I apologize for my ignorance on this question, but can someone explain to me
how it's possible to access my computer from a remote location?  I see ads
that tell me it's possible, but I can't envision how that happens.  I have a
dial up, but will be getting cable access soon.

#2:  I saw an ad for the software and cable that will allow me to transfer
files from my laptop to my desktop.  I update files on my laptop
occassionally that are sometimes not easy to copy to a disk and transfer.
The price for the software and cable was $55.  Does anyone know where I can
get that equipment or failing that, does anyone have another suggestion?
