I accidentally deleted the system.ini and now cannot boot my pc. The message I get when I try to boot is:

Cannot find SYSTEM.INI.

Boot with Emergency Boot Disk and type SCANREG /RESTORE

I have saved all of my files so I'm not concerned about losing anything on the pc. I created an Emergency Boot Disk for Windows ME from the FreePCTech website. When I boot my pc with this disk, the message I get is:

Non-System disk or disk error

Replace and strike any key when ready

I realize that Windows ME is antiquated and unsupported but so is my pc. I just want to get it running again.

Thanks for your assistance.
