For the past month my hard drives have picked up strange subdirectories
that consist of a very long chain of
\<<\<<\<<\<<\<<\<<\<<\<<\<<\<<\<<\<<\<<\<<\<<\<<\<<\<<\<<\<<\<< and so
on for hundreds of repititions. This makes searching for anything in
these drives very difficult and time-consuming.
I think it's a virus and at one time NAV flashed a "Word Macro Virus"
alert, but it didn't fix it and I didn't get that warning again.

Has anyone seen something like this? Is be a virus or might it be
something else? My next step is to format my disks and all the hassle
involved with that. I'd appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks, George
