Can't you just move your picture to a transparent background and then save
as a gif??

Would someone please show me how to access "Photoshop Optimization panel

The "Help" files say  "A. File format menu B. Color Reduction Algorithm 
menu C. Dither Algorithm menu D. Transparency dithering menu E. Optimize 
menu"

Apparently that means I'm to follow those steps in opening the menu I need.

But I don't see "file format" or File/format, I don't know what those 
instructions are talking about.

I want to make a GIF's background transparent.  How do I find the menu 
that lets me do that?
