Does anyone know how to go about removing DirectX? The reason I'm asking is
that my son has a game that suddenly went bonkers. The game is Starcraft.
He was playing it (Playing in the internet network multi player mode) and
the computer crashed - all white screen no response from any input. When he
rebooted, the colors in the game were all mixed up - looked to me like
reverse or negative colors. Reloading the game made no difference. The
startup screen looks fine but as soon as the actual game starts up the
colors are out of whack. He contacted the company for support and they were
no help except that they said that it sounds like a color palette shift and
maybe the DirectX was screwed up. We have installed the latest version (6)
but no change. I suspect that some DirectX file is screwed but it is not
being overwritten by the update. There doesn't appear to be any uninstall
for DirectX that I can find. I was thinking that I could remove DirectX and
start with a fresh reload but I can't figure out how to get all the files
out.

The computer is a P60, Matrox Ultima or Impression video card (with the
latest drivers - made no difference).

Any suggestions?
