Hi Ron!
Well, he is using a Windows95 peer to peer network, but that ist not the
point of interest. The software should keep tax and personal data of
clients secret in case someone uses his computer. The guy is a
security-maniac. Hes has all kinds of passwords for boot-protection,
network-protection and so on. Actually he is storing his data on ZIP disks,
because you can protect them with a password. As I told him, that you can
easily work around it, he wants something else. He used pkunzip before,
where you can encrypt the data with a password too. But he says its too
much effort to unzip all data for usage an than zip it again for security.
He wants something simple, where you just enter a password, but which will
provide enough security. Every access to the file should be blocked. (I
know that a disk editor will gain access to that data very easily, but
well...)
So, do you know any software, that could do this??
TIA
Oliver

You do not say what network you are using. Most non peer to peer nwetwork
operating systems allow this type of security. Windows NT, Novell are the
ones that come to mind first.
