I have over 100 public access computer with over 2,400 different students
using the printers.  Each public access computer is in a location with
cheap dot matrix printers, Color Ink Jet printers and Laser printers.

We charge 25 cents per page when a student prints on either the ink jet or
the laser printers.  We want the machine to always default to the dot
matrix printer, so that when a student clicks on the print button on the
toolbar it will default to the dot matrix and NOT to either of the billable
printers.

If a previous student changes the default to one of the billable printers
the current student becomes very unhappy.  We show the students how to
select a printer, BUT if it isn't immediatly important to them they forget.

All students log onto a Windows NT network and we can manipulate the
Regisitry, INI files, Bat files, etc. via a log-in script,  However, I have
not been able to find in any of the usual locations where it keeps track of
the default printer.
