Actually the disk does say Norton Utilities 2001 5.0, so after your comment,
I can assume that I may be okay using it with WindowsME.

Some of the utilites in 5.0 will not work properly
with Windows ME. You will need the NU 2001 which is
made for ME. The reason for this is because some of
the programs in NU 5.0 need to access DOS, and Windows
ME does not boot with DOS, so the DOS is innaccessible
to these types of programs. The Norton 2001 products
are designed to be able to access the DOS that is
hidden in Windows ME. It's not a major catastrophy,
the only parts of the NU 5.0 I had problems with was
accessing the protected recycle bin and updating the
rescue disks for Norton Antivirus and Utilities. I
eventually went to Norton Systemworks 2001.
