or maybe it can't be restored through a sfc check. So What is broke and how
do I fix it? By the way I was doing this as part of maintence on my system
so I hadn't noticed anything behaving badly with my computer. Hopefully with
your help I can catch something before it goes to far. By the way scandisk
and scanreg did not show these errors they came up clean.

Brendhan,

Just so you know, I've been watching the threads over the last few months
concerning the SFC, and to be honest, I'm not convinced it was such a great
idea to include it in win98. That's just my opinion; I use win95b. On to
your problem...other than the one exe file, the rest are 'dynamic link
library' files, which are, imho, 'replaceable'. If you can't find them on
your cd, then try searching the net. I personally wouldn't think twice about
simply downloading them, and then just putting them in their respective
folder(s). A file of this type can become 'corrupt' quite easily for
different reasons, and for the most part, they are not "critical" files.
Whenever I get the "missing filename.dll file" error, I just go find it and
put it where it belongs. Someone else may offer a better solution, but this
method has never caused my system an known problems. As for the exe file,
have you tried running it to see if it works? If it's executable, then it
can't be terribly 'corrupt', imho. You may find it on the net, too. It may
well be that the exe file actually generates the .dll files that you need.
Hope this helps you.
